Simple Past Tense is used to ask and give information about
an event that occurred at a certain time in the past. While Present Perfect
Tense is used to ask for and give information about events that
happened in the past and still has an impact today.
Both can be used to ask to start a conversation as well as to respond
statement.

🔷 What is the Simple Past Tense?
Simple Past Tense is a tense which is used to express an action or event that happened in the past. So, the events that are told, begin and end in the past.
As in the example conversation above, the sentences that are bolded in the conversation are:
"You sang beautifully on the competition yesterday."
In this sentence, "you" is meant is good. As we know from the conversation between Tasya and Bagus above, Bagus took part in a singing competition yesterday, and in that competition, Bagus sang beautifully. Well, this incident of beautiful singing happened in the past and has ended in the past, so Tasya uses the Simple Past Tense in her sentence.
🔷 Use of Simple Past Tense
This tense is usually used in conversation, when the speaker tells an event that has passed. It can also be used when we write stories about past experiences. In addition, the use of these tenses can also be found in fairy tale books that tell stories from the past.
🔷 Uses of Present Perfect Tense
1. Stating events that have taken place in the past and are still ongoing today. Usually, the present perfect tense uses "for = during" (which is followed by a period of time), for example:
For 10 years. Or "since = since" (followed by a specific time), for example: Since 2010.
Example of sentences:
🟡 I have learned to play piano for two years.
🟡 My English has really improved since I moved to England.
. To express an activity that has just been completed by using the word just.
Example of sentences:
🟡 Ratu has just left the class.
3. Declare events in the past that have a result or effect in the present.
Example of sentences:
🟡 I have opened the door.
4. To state events or life experiences and adverbs of time are not needed. We can add the adverb "ever" which means ever, or "never" which means never, to describe our experience.
Example of sentences:
🟡 Have you ever visited her house.
🟡 I have never eaten sushi.
5. To express the repetition of an activity from the past to the present. An activity that happened repeatedly in the past, and still repeats itself until now.
Example of sentences:
🟡 I have traveled to many countries so far.
🎀 Present Perfect Tense Sentence Pattern
The present perfect tense is divided into two, namely verbal sentence patterns and nominal sentence patterns. Let's take a look at the differences one by one, shall we?
A. Verbal Sentence Patterns
1. Positive sentence
Subject + have/has + Verb 3.
“Riri has repeatedly sung this love song since yesterday”.
2. Negative sentences
Subject + have/has + not + Verb 3.
“They have not told me about this story before”.
3. Interrogative sentences
Have/has + subject + Verb3 + ?
“Have you called him twice?”
So, if you have a question using the Present Perfect Tense like that, then you can answer it like this: "Yes, I have" or "No, I haven't".

I and my friends held an event at my friend's house named Jihan. The distance between our house and him is not far from my house. After gathering all of the them, we began to prepare whatever materials were needed during the grilling event later. There were six of my friends who attended this event, namely myself, Nela, Ara, Syalva, Zahwa, and Jihan of course.
We distributed tasks to prepare for the event, someone held tickets because the grilling event was held in the yard, and I myself cooked tomyam with Nela. When everything is complete, we start the program for the grilling of sausages, seafood, otak-otak, etc. namely shalva and myself who smeared butter on the food before it was burned.
After the grilling was over, we started to distribute the food and started eating together. This is a photo of us eating together, at 00:00 we watched and saw fireworks at the same time and we said our hopes and dreams in 2022. After that we ended the event at 1:00 am because we were getting sleepy and we also stay together at Jihan's house.
My hopes and Dreams in 2022 i want to get a class rank, i was accepted into the SNMPTN track in 2024, and of course i want to always be better, then i always ask God so that my parents are always healthy and watch and see developments I'm in the process of living my life.
