In chapter six, part three, I and my group were asked to make a text which contains the simple past tense and the present perfect tense.This is dialogue with group
This text tells about us wanting to do homework together
Annil : Hey, guys!
Naila, Suci : Hey, Annil!
Annil : What are you doing here?
Suci : I’m doing nothing, honestly. But then I met Naila here.
Annil : Oh! Naila what are you doing here?
Naila : I’m waiting for Aaron and Amanda.
Annil : Oh, I just saw them.
Naila : Where are they?
Annil : They were on their class, and.. Oh! There they are!
Aaron, Amanda : Hallo, guys!
Amanda : We’re sorry, we’re late..
Naila : It’s okay..
Amanda : I was looking for you, Nail, and then you’re gone..
Aaron : Yeah, you disappeared
Annil : You’re being dramatic
Amanda : Oh, hi, Annil! Hi, Suci!
Annil, Suci : Hi
Amanda : So we were gonna do our homework together, but Naila gone out of nowhere.
Naila : That is not true..
Aaron : Guys! C’mon let’s do the homework!
Amanda : Right! Annil, Suci, want to join?
Annil : Sounds great!
Suci : I’m in!
Amanda : Perfect!
Naila, Aaron : Let’s go!

C. Summary
Simple Past Tense is used to ask and give information about
an event that occurred at a certain time in the past. While Present Perfect
Tense is used to ask for and give information about events that
happened in the past and still has an impact today.
Both can be used to ask to start a conversation as well as to respond
statement.

Conclusion
For is/am/are, make sentences that are now happening or that usually happen.
While was/were is for something that has happened before but now it doesn't happen anymore.
